Why have all NBA arenas nowadays I noticed have guard rails and barriers in the front rows where seating is?

Something I’ve noticed NBA has been putting guardrails in many arenas across the league. I’ve searched online that this is taking away from the NBA fan experience so fans can get closer to the fans. What do you think about this? Good idea or bad idea the railings and barriers are up in the stands? Unless this had to do with the COVID pandemic,

I'm not sure that would be something the NBA would be doing. All of these arenas are multi-use arenas and, in most cases, I don't believe the arenas are owned by the team.

It is a good idea.

I understand why fans wouldn’t like this.

But there needs to be a clear boundary between the player’s area and the fans.

But then we don’t get a live action Malice in the Palace remake

Honestly surprised it didn’t happen immediately after that.

Don’t think anyone would have been asking why back then.

Yeah I'm a bit puzzled by this, too. It would make sense at baseball games so that fans don't reach over the fence to grab fly balls. But basketball has never had much of an issue with fans rushing onto the court.

I don’t sit close enough to the court at games to care.

I do not care for Cleveland’s self checkout food service though. Way too many fingers can get at those chicken fingers. No thanks.
