why did Saints blitz so much?

I can see you wanting to blitz to see how your pass rush is doing, but if I'm a coach entering a pre-season game I think I would also want to just rush 4 guys and see how my secondary is playing.

What was Gregg Williams thinking? Trying to give Harbaugh a nice welcome to the NFL?

What did Gregg Williams learn by doing that? Not much in my opinion, probably the only thing that the 49ers offensive line is not communicating well at all.

I REALLY hope that when the Saints play the Niners in the reg season that we blitz the bejeebus out of them and consistently put Brees on his ass. I thought it was pretty ridiculous for the first game of the season.

One thing I read from a Saints writer is that Belichick did the same exact thing to the Saints to open last preseason. Maybe Payton saw some value in the strategy.....if Belichick did it there's probably something smart about it.

If you are referring to 2011, we do not play the Saints in 2011 regular season. So, I'll hope your desire to blitz the bejeebus out of them is an omen that we will meet in the playoffs.
