#1 Houston 87, Oklahoma 85.
DAMN. Helluva game. OU (19-10, 7-9) overcame a 15-point deficit in the 2nd half to tie it, but Houston (26-3, 13-3) found a way late.

#23 Gonzaga (23-6, 13-2) @ #17 St Mary's (24-6, 15-0).

Zags lead by 14 in the 2nd half. I love these rival marquee matchups late in the season.

Must be nice for Gonzaga and St. Mary's to literally play in a 2-team league so come March they skew the seeding. This right here is real manipulation. I'll never respect these teams.

I can't wait until programs like these get exposed like George Mason and Wichita State has been. If they ever develop the guts to upgrade conferences that is.

Gonzaga should join the Mountain West.

UConn destroys Seton Hall and clinches the Big East regular season title. The Huskies have impressed me more than any other team this year.

I don't think it would be much of an upgrade over the WCC. In the last 8 tournaments Gonzaga has 8 SS's, 5 EE's and 2 FF's, and they would have been a 1 seed in the covid canceled tournament. I honestly have no idea why the narrative that they couldn't compete in a power conference still exists.

Memphis (21-8, 10-6) has taken the lead on UAB (18-10, 10-5) after trailing by 22. UAB coach Andy Kennedy was ejected. He was livid.

3/3 recap

While UConn was winning it's first stand-alone Big East title since 1998-99, these were the other big games going on:

Memphis over UAB 106-87
Indiana over Maryland 83-78
Quinnipiac over Siena 71-57; clinches regular-season MAAC title
Ohio State over Michigan 84-61
Drake over Bradley 74-66
Indiana State over Murray State 89-77
Nebraska over Rutgers 67-56
Colorado over Stanford 81-71

Huh. Seton Hall was the only "bubble team" to lose yesterday. That CAN'T be good news for them.

Both teams on the bubble. The refs kept on calling ticky tack fouls on Cincinnati early in the game and I just cut it off. I knew where this was going. Please don't insult my intelligence.

Looks at box score...

Oklahoma, 34 free throws. 34.

Cincinnati, 11 free throws. Glad I decided to do some chores. You got it Big 12 refs.

Oklahoma 74, Cincinnati 71 (OT).
WHEW. That was close. OU makes it interesting. Led only about 3 minutes total, but gets the W.
Sooners improve to (20-10, 8-9). Currently, the 9-seed in the Big XII. Next up: @Texas (19-11, 8-9).

I know you're a fan, but that was complete domination. But the refs just can't help themselves. Missed most of the 2nd half and OT. Couldn't even enjoy the game. Glad you had fun.
