Some rumblings that this guy could drop. He was projected top 3 for awhile but the teams in the top 5 for the most part don't need a winger. If he's within range I would 100% make the move. Otherwise Lindholm seems to be a popular choice:

but you know what if nichushkin is there i wouldnt mind the gamble. go all in and if he turns into another filatov so be it. cant play scared!



i would really want to stay away from the swe/fin players though...man that sounds bad!

It is a bit of a gamble but he seems just about ready to make the jump to the NHL and considering Matteau got legit playing time here last year I think you would see him making the team. I see it as being different than Filatov, reasons being Columbus was a shitshow at that time and the Devils have that halfway decent Russian forward to entice him to stay.

still though i dont know how much i trust these players that dont play on north american ice or in their leagues.

larrson for instance couldnt even crack this lineup for whatever reason he didnt play in the juniors or anything over here. same thing going to be said about nichsuhkin if he gets drafted? he will def be on the opening night lineup but is that the right thing?


i think larrson should've been shipped to albany right away imo cant through a kid out to the wolves if he hasnt even been playing the same game style.

thing too with filatov he got a second chance with ottawa and didnt do much with it. him and radulov are both scary indicators. i also believe the caps 1st round pick a few years back is still playing in russia? a lot of red flags but hey sometimes gotta roll the hard six

i disagree about the depth of our blue line. sure they are just potential right now but they all cant be busts can they? i also think you need 2 legit blue liners and pair them serviceable d men. that said the more i read about the kid the more i like the russian.

while its true we dont have a legit #1 center i think zajac is pretty damn close to it
