Pitt @ Seattle

Hopefully our game at GB is earlier in the season because that's our toughest game

So if we repeat, which team is the most likely matchup on the Thursday night opener to the 2015 season? Steelers?

I always hesitate to judge these schedules so far out because things hardly ever turn out how you think. I just hope we don't have a week 4 bye again. That's not how you do the defending champs. And outside of week 1, no Thursday games would be ok with me too.

So stoked we are playing in Baltimore next year. I try to make one game per season, and I can all but walk to M&T.

Everybody gets a Thursday game, and apparently week 1 doesn't count towards that.

Some things about that schedule stand out. First of all, it'll be nice to get to play the Bears here in the regular season for a change. I know it's happened at least once since realignment, but it just seems like we're always going to Chicago to play them. The next thing that drew my attention is that we get 9 games against teams that made the playoffs this year and four more games against division opponents for whom injuries were a significant issue. The last thing I noticed is that, assuming we don't play them in the playoffs this year, we get the Lions at home, which means a Golden Tate sighting. Given the speculation surrounding his departure last year, it'll be interesting to see the response he gets from the crowd.

Probably Steelers. They have a huge fan base and the NFL is all about the fanbase for primetime games. The other teams we play at home just do not have that kind of appeal, at least right now.

That is one tough schedule, getting the AFC North and NFC North... I don't really see an ez game on that schedule outside the Bears...

Dang, was hoping Chicago would be here, since that's where I now live. Either way I might be moving to Dallas so I could definitely go to that game.

Might have to make a drive to Minnesota though. That's only 5-6 hours. Drive, spend the night out, hit the game up, take Monday off.

Could be the Niners to make sure the rivalry stays intact even with harb's gone.

Could be, I suppose. But since the league started kicking things off with the defending Champs hosting a Thursday nighter, I'm not sure there's a precedent of a divisional matchup.

With four 2014 playoff teams on the 2015 home portion of the schedule, I can't imagine the league will put us up against a non-playoff team if we won the championship again this year. If we face Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl, they could schedule a regular season rematch for the NFL opener. If we get to the Super Bowl and we face any AFC team other than Pittsburgh, then we'll probably get a rematch against whomever we face in the playoffs out of Detroit, Arizona and Carolina in the 2015 NFL opener. I think the only possible chance of seeing us play that game against a non-playoff team is if San Francisco raids our coaching staff and the network frames it as as "Seahawks vs. Niners: Rivalry Reborn" or something.

True, but given NFL wants the highest ratings the only teams I could see the Hawks hosting would be the Niners, Steelers and maybe the Lions.

This is the first game of the NFL regular season we are talking about. We'll all watch no matter what the matchup is.

NFl is putting division games late in the year, so I don't see the 49ers being the team the Seahawks face to start the season.
