No, the Crush was not the original 3-4, Miami and the Oilers were the first if I remember right, followed shortly by Denver. Though in saying that, the Miami D was a little different and called something different and was used only because of injury. The Oilers' 3-4 was also a bit different than what Denver was doing, the Oilers were using the Phillips 3-4 and Denver was using more of a Fairbanks-Bulloughs approach. The difference being our 3-4 D today and the 3-4 D we used 5 years ago. One is essentially a one gap, aggressive D and the other is a two gap occupy blockers and let the LB's make the plays kinda D.
