All true. But to do that means he gives up on Red. And he's getting ready to sign him up for the next seven years. He'll be able to do that cheaply, by quarterback standards, and he won't be able to resist that.

Yeah.... I think this is likely. The Bengals will now get Dalton for cheap.

What's interesting is that we are effectively building an ideal situation to have a team that can consistently win 8-11 games per season, yet never really be a threat for the title. It's an odd and novel model for an NFL franchise. We'll be just good enough to sell some seats and merchandise but not good enough to contend.
