Who returns Kickoffs now?

With the loss of Richardson who will return kickoffs full time now? Baldwin? I would like to see Kearse get back their again. He has done it before with good results but do we risk him in that spot? i believe he is big enough and strong enough that a injury is unlikely where as Baldwin might be more susceptible to injury.

Your thoughts on this?

From the press release about Richardson, I wouldn't be surprised if they use B.J. Daniels to return kicks, or at least that's how I read they expect to use him on special teams.

Daniels wont be returning kicks.....Atleast I hope not. I dont want a guy who wears a red non contact jersey in practice handling the ball in the most important game of the year.

Put Doug Beazy or Kearse dog back there. And honestly,,,, catch it, take a knee and let the beast and RW go to work.

That's the thing, from the reports I am reading, he's not wearing the red jersey. He's been busting his ass off playing every position they'll let him play. He's expected to contribute (according to reports) at RB, WR and special teams. They are supposedly bringing him in as a position player, not just a QB.

B.J. Daniels

Article about Daniels' signing and what his role may possibly be.

Teams don't hit this late in the year... and honestly really ever in practice. Theres not amount of reports of him practicing that will make me comfortable with a guy who has been sitting on the bench talking qb with RW all year taking special team shots.

I mean look no further then our kickoff coverage team, they blow people up. You really want a QB taking that hit?

I hope it's Kearse. He's already shown the ability to take one to the house and we can use a little boost in the kick return department.

Daniels is built just like Russell, so I'm not worried about him being able to take a hit. Being able to take the hit and not fumble, however... that can probably only come from experience, and I don't know if he has played in any real games before.
I'm excited to see him get the chance to play, though, as he was a very dynamic player in college and just suffered from the Russell Wilson syndrome of being under 6' coming out of the draft.

Why not Walters? He is already handling the punts.

Oh yeah I wasn't concerned about him being able to take a hit and pop up. I dont know if he can take a hit and hang on to the ball.

Whoever it is, just catch it and take a knee until they kick it short. If they do that, then make them pay but remember, BALL SECURITY!

Logic says to go with Kearse, Walters, or maybe Baldwin. You don't try to get cute at this stage in the game, too much downside.

I would assume Baldwin gets the job.

I like Walters doing it. He has experience and he wasn't horrible doing it. He is also probably one of the more expendable WR's we have (which isn't saying much) so if he got dinged up it would be less of a loss than losing Baldwin, Kearse or Lockette.

Yeah I think im on board with Walters too. Maybe throw out Doug Beazy or Kearse if were in need of a big play later in the game or something. But with Prich going down, we have to keep doug and kearse up right.

Now that I think about where down to the most crucial games of the year we need to put every man on the line and not worry about injury. If doug baldwin is our best guy at kick returns then it should be him and walters
