I think you have to bring up Teds. Either that or Harold as the 7th Dman. I'd probably go Harold simply because he's better defensively, and as I stated in another thread it never hurts having an extra defenseman. Tedenby and Janssen are too much of a liability out there. This really hurts. Mr. Glass just can't stay healthy.
I'm going to go with Zharkov. He's a better option on both offense and defense than Bolton and Cam. Tedenby isn't exactly setting the world on fire in albany. Frankly, I'd rather dress 7 dmen.
Anybody but Brad Mills. Id rather dress 7dmen as well..Fayne has really come around on me and I like Harold getting some ice time in the playoffs..gotta get Larsson back in there too right?
yeah i say bring up ted. if the kid doesnt have the hunger with this given chance so close to the playoffs after being sent down. then nothing will get him going. he would have a real shot at turning some heads and making a name for himself. i say give him the chance. i'd rather lose while taking a shot at winning then playing it safe and losing with the 7th d man
I'm ok with either Tedenby or the 7th Dman option. I'd even like to get Zharkov up here. Cam can't be anywhere near this team in the playoffs and Boulton makes me almost as nervous, but we need some tough guys in the lineup.
The thing with Tedenby is he is creating many chances in Albany, but can't finish. Similar to what we saw in Jersey. I think hiring a trainer, bulking up this offseason, and we will see results the next year or two. Once he gains strength, he will also gain confidence. He will be fine. The talent is already there.
Me and my buddy were discussing this recently and agreed, JJ going down may have won us the first round. If he doesn't get hurt we don't see Gionta come up. Gionta was huge for us in the Florida series, he added energy and was all over the place. Would JJ have provided that same spark or would he have just gone through the motions like half the forwards did?
Gionta is definitely there for us and big contributor IMO in both the FLA & Philly series. His speed is really standing out there vs certain dmen.
JJ could replace Carter at C if JJ is fully healthy. Cause I believe JJ will be just as good or better at the forecheck and providing some scoring ability(he was attacking the net pretty well before he went down)
Speed kills, and when you see guys Like Gionta and Henrique flying through the zone you have to respect that ability to accelerate so quickly. It has certainly kept their defense honest.
Nobody on the 4th line has been playing badly, but they obviously trust JJ because he gets some PK time, and Bernier and Gionta have more versatility (Coaching staff had him take some shifts with Parise and Elias during Flyers series). Carter may be the odd man out. Who knows when JJ is going to be back. Didn't he just get the cast off?
