Mike is gone, RG3 won the war to control the team. HE subsequently had a bad year after Mike was gone. I think its safe to say a smart man would simply answer these types of questions the same way a married man answers his wife about an Ex..... its in the past, can we kindly move forward. Because RG3's 2015/2016 season can in no way shape or form still be blamed on Mike and Kyle.

RG3 had 'open discussion' with Shanahan over playbook | Comcast SportsNet Washington

one says demands , one says open discussion, the truth ? perhaps a little of both ?
Wether its demands or open discussion, it's still very unusual. Do you think Tannehill has open discussions with his HC about the plays he is willing to run? I'm sure he and the OC have discussions about the playbook but I seriously doubt anywhere Ryan states he doesn't want to run certain plays. We know that happened as evidenced by how the play calling changed from season 1 to season 2 as well as by the comments made by his father after season 1.

Well yes and no Shark the first 2 years in the league shape a QB and RG3's development got messed over by the Shanny's IMO. The question is can he recover from it

Example look at the TEXANS- David Carr was shell-shocked after 2 years on the expansion Texans. He never turned into the player he could have been if taken by another team with a decent OL.
apples and oranges could be said I know but the Mismanagement and ultra high expectations and Griffins attitude have not mixed well for the Skins.

This is make or break for RG3 IMHO this year I wish him well
And this is not a shot but Y'all paid through the nose to draft him and the results thus far don't justify the picks given away to get him.

And Trust Me I know Dallas is a nasty sack away from having to look for another franchise QB as are all NFL teams

Correct but speed does disappear when you injure the same knee 2 times in the same way. I hope he can turn it around and does not end up on the NFL scrap heap of What could have been. Maybe 2 years removed from the Injury all is good. But the Author is right this is his make or break season
Too true. And speedy wheels arent going to be a long term answer for a QB anyways. The thing that is often forgotten about Griff is the ability to throw the deep ball. Hopefully with some better pass protection and a more consistent running game, Griff will regain some form...:hope:

When Rg3 had good protection he ran into sacks. No one admits that. Can the QB coach make RG3 into a pocket passer? Who knows. He has trouble reading defenses. He is just an athlete right now. The organization is trying to change an athletic QB to a pocket passer. Very tough to do. The better pocket passer is already on the roster. This organization would rather lose with RG3 than win with KC. I find it funny how our pass blocking problems went away when KC was at QB

Don't get me wrong guys I want RG3 to succeed but I believe he has a greater learning curve to be a pocket passer than KC right now. Yes RG3 can make great plays athletically. That is the only thing he brings to the table. It doesn't matter this organization is all in RG3. We just have to take it. Let's hope it works.

Is anybody really doubting that Shanny's accounts are accurate? What did you expect Griffin to say, "yeah, he's right. I did that". No he sugar coated by calling a "demand" an "open discussion" but we all know what that means.

i dont disagree DSG , i just am not going to bash him anymore until the season starts if he plays poorly . but yeah he demanded it and he was a complete jack ass diva for doing it

hopefully its a case of a young guy learning to grow up and getting his head on straight

almost all of his flaws are mental and correctable

That's what I keep hanging my hat on, he has the physical tools that other QBs don't. Most of his problems are between the ears and I too have hope that they can be correctable. The only one I have concerns with is his pocket presence, is that learned or natural? Guess we'll find out.

with film study and knowing the playbook you can compensate some for lack of pocket presence

I'm not so sure but I hope you are right. He can learn to read defenses better and go through progressions faster but feel in the pocket, the ability to sense the defender and slide to an open spot while keeping your eyes downfield, seems to be something you appear to have or you don't. Romo has it, Rob Johnson did not.

like i said , it would make up for some , it is still a liability not to sense pressure and where its coming from however he ran into a lot of sacks by not following the play design and not knowing what his lineman were doing with their man so that can be coached . but still its a gaping hole in his game
