I had Dickey pegged for a 3.75-4.00 ERA; 1.21 WHIP, and 170k's coming in to this season. People thought I was nuts to expect such a decline. I bet Dickey would love to finish the season with those numbers right now.

There were my reasons.

1. Going from pitcher friendly Citi Field to HR Haven Rogers Centre
2. Facing tougher AL lineups and the DH on a regular basis
3. not facing the pitcher or pinch hitter 3 times a game
4. generally smaller ballparks in the AL and in the AL East in particular

I loved Tim Wakefield, and knew he was done with the Sox, but thought he could have stretched another year or two out of his career if he went back to the NL.

Dickey has/will become Tim Wakefield (circa 2003-2009) with more strikeouts.

Cole Hamels

Never was the same after the World Baseball Classic start when he was ruffed up by the Dominican Republic team.

I picked Cain pretty high for my fantasy team and he's been a dud. So my vote is probably biased.
Cain has been pretty normal except for about 3 or 4 abysmal starts where he gave up about 2 or 3 HR's each game. His hit rate and K rate is about the same, though his walk rate is also much higher. As long as the velocity is still there, Cain will be alright.

My vote is cleary Dickey, but why isn't Josh Johnson on the list? Many Blue Jays fans thought they were shoo-ins after trading for Dickey, Johnson, and Buehrle.

Personally, I saw Johnson as a huge injury risk based on his recent history and velocity drop, but others didn't.

:agree:

You are right regarding Josh Johnson.

Actually though, I would have been more accurate to simply state "all Blue Jays starters".

Hear me Ricky Romero?

How about you Mark Buehrle?
