Who has a better chance of winning the division, 49ers or Giants?

At this point I would have to go with the Giants. I guess both are a long shot.

Giants easily. The Niners will probably be a last place team this year.

I think the Seahawks have done more to improve their team than the Niners have this offseason (short term at least). Also, the team will have a year in Carroll's system under their belts; the Niners' system will be brand new.

Depends what kind of condition the Giants D will be throughout the season... They may have to win games in shootout mode rather their norm. I dont think they will, but who knows..

Living in the east coast, god knows I'll see plenty of Giants games so I'll see how their offense evolved from last year.

I'll go with Niner for now.

Ah the 49ers easily on this just by the sheer fact that the Giants are done. They are not make up 6 games to win the division. The Giants have a long road series coming up to end the season before 3 final home games against Colorado. It would take a huge collapse by the DBacks to even give them a chance.

Sadly, the Niners have a better shot. Not because the Niners have a shot, but because after tonight's loss, the fat lady is warming up for her solo...

If the 49ers stay healthy then they would have a better shot. Injuries wiped out the Giants this year.

The Giants are about done after dropping two out of three to the Diamondbacks. The hitting is just not going to come this year with what they have.

Which Giants (SF or NY)?

I see the Niners finishing in 3rd place this year as well as NYG.

Now if you're talking about baseball, too many injuries and not enough O is what probably sealed their fate after today's loss.

..."not enough O" is like saying Custer didn't have enough men at Little Big Horn. The Giants' offense is as anemic as any I have seen in almost 40 years of watching baseball.

The story of the Giants' season is like putting Joe Montana at quarterback (the pitching staff) and surrounding him with receivers like Renaldo Nehemiah and JJ Stokes at WR with Amp Lee and Terrence Flagler at RB (the bats). Montana will get you some wins and keep you in the game most of the time, but even his brilliance cannot compensate for the complete lack of talent around him.

Too bad since Beltran came to life in this series and Cody Ross looks like he is starting to heat up. Problem is Cody Ross does not belong in the leadoff spot and the offensive disappears after the 5th or 6th hitter. I was hoping for Brandon Belt to do well but he is struggling more than Huff. MLB pictures have found his weak spot that he is going to have to work through. Tough to repeat. There is always next year.

Looking forward to Niners season. They might have little chance to make the playoffs but it still looks better than the Giants at this point.
