If somebody can win X amount of games in any given time period, somebody can also lose X amount of games in any time period. I wouldn't put a fork in anybody yet...

Depends on who you ask. You ask Devils fans we'll tell you "no" because we watch the game. Ask anyone else and they'll ask you "when did they stop?" :D

Not even the Maple Leafs? I think several forks have been put in them already...

All I'm saying is that no team has even approached a 145-point pace in the salary cap era. I don't think that's possible, and that's why I say it's not sustainable.

I just ran some numbers. 85 points is the lowest number that I can conceive being required to get into the 8th seed in the playoffs. In order to reach 85 points, the Devils will need to average 1.347 points/game for the remainder of the season. In the salary cap era, the best regular season point total was 121 by the Washington Capitals last year, a rate of 1.48 points/game.

So it's possible is what I'm saying.

Logic tells me not to get my hopes up but theirs been plenty of examples throughout the history of sports that have defied logic.either way its to early to say and I'm just going to enjoy the ride right now.either way I'm proud they didn't decide to pack it in and fold for the draft pick I respect that

You're not alone. I've tried, I really have but I keep falling asleep.:D

STY, to answer the trap question technically yeah, they are running a 1-2-2 for sure, no denying it, butthe transition game is straight up fucking special right now, its almost unbelievable.

You know, there's no issue with playing the trap Devs fans. Just admit that it's horrific to watch from the other side. It's infuriating, frustrating, and nauseating. That said, it's been shown to work, so I get why it's used.

One thing I'll say for the trap even for our side of it the system they play now is far more exciting then the system we played in the mid 90's.Definatley more puck possesion and transition.

I don't mind playing teams that play the trap. It helps having both the calmest player in the league and the craftiest. Plus, it always seems like one person is just standing around and the Wings exploit that. (thank you, two line pass)

This was pretty much what I was referring to in my joke reply earlier

lol

I didn't mean to make it sound like we tear it up all game long, btw. It has a lot to do with our style of play probably getting a lot more cracks at breaking it. kinda wear it down and wait for somebody to fall asleep at the wheel.
