The Medicine Hat Tigers go into the Centrium in Red Deer to play the first place Rebels. Trailing 1-0 going into the 3rd period, they score three unanswered goals to skate away with a 3-1 victory.

Only bad news is that Tyler Pitlick looks like he's going to be a very good player for the Oil (how he didn't make the US junior team in Buffalo I'll never know).

Nice to see the Hat put together a solid win against a tough, tough team. Red Deer is a tough place to play anyway (well it is for Spokane, but then again they only play there once every 2 years) which makes it even more impressive.

Looks like the Tigers are heating up. If they can win their games in hand they have on Red Deer, they could jump them and take the division. If you have to play both Red Deer and Saskatoon in the playoffs, it would be nice to have home ice for at least one of those series (doesn't look like Toon will be caught). I'd love to see a Medicine Hat/Spokane WHL final, although the Chiefs have been stumbling a bit the last couple weeks.

I notice that Etem scored another goal tonight. Puts him at 30 on the season. Drafting Coyle and letting Etem fall to the Ducks is gonna bite the Sharks in the ass for a loooooooong time. :L

Go Tigers! :D

I watched the game on Shaw and saw a ton of empty seats in Red Deer (attendance was just over 4300). Pretty disappointing for a first place team.

That would be great, still a ton of hockey to be played, but I was impressed by the speed of the Tigers tonight, they outskated the Rebels all game long.
