This shouldn't come as a surprise. Clearly something was wrong with the guy and clearly the Bengals were being cryptic when discussing the injury. Sounds like the latest was minor though and maybe he'll be back soon.

Alternatively he might be being treated by Joey Votto's knee doctor. In that case, he now has a vagina and is about 1/5 as strong as he was before the 'procedure.'

Marvin was bsing until the end, just Monday he said Whit had a chance to play this week. This dishonesty is part of what really annoys me about him.

Does this now mean Whit only has warning track power?

It could be.... Marvin and the coaches saw the pittsburgh film.... AND KNOW.... they don't need Whitworth.

So... no reason to force Whitworth to play too soon.

There is no longer any reason not to have confidence that Anthony Collins can do the job. He proved himself last week against Julius Peppers, who never got a sniff of anything all day. But why so fucking secretive? What agenda does that advance?

Yeah... keep him in and let Whitworth heal up.

Great job by Collins against Peppers (unfortunately... great job by Kyle Long against Geno Atkins).

There is player medical confidentiality and to throw a small wrench in pittsburgh's preparation.

Collins graded with a +2.5 pass block rating by PFF. The next closest was Smith at 1.5.

Man, that PFF shit became the Bible of football all of a sudden hasn't it?

It's been there and good for a couple of years. But most people seem to have really bought in now. There is no place else to find the game breakdowns that PFF provides. I think ESPN tried to keep up somewhat with their QBR that they started last season, but it pales in comparison to PFF.

Their premium stats are something you actually have to look up and see for yourself to really appreciate what they do.
