I think it's the Offensive Line. My reason for this is that personally it wouldn't surprise me this year if and when the Defense is solid all around. We have the depth to do just about whatever we want on Defense.

On Offense, we have depth pretty much every where except the Offensive Line. Last year they were not nearly physical enough. They are going to have to make a huge jump from last year in order for the Huskers to sustain drives and wear down BIG Defenses.

Special Teams will be solid guaranteed.

Yes.

Sounds like those guys are being pushed this year. (the more I read about the transfers)

And that's a good thing.

it may feel like the sky is falling with people leaving en sech, but really i think it is a good indication that they are being pushed harder than they have been since bo has been here.

Its still QB IMO for you guys. Unless Martinez improves dramatically I dont see anyway you guys do better than 9-3 or 8-4. OL is critical too but none of that matters if your QB doesnt pick his level up to the same level as what you have at WR and RB.

They can't be 64th in the nation in rushing defense and expect to be in the BiG 10 Championship

while i agree that Martinez needs to show lots of improvement, it should be noted that many (not all, but many) of his troubles come from average to sub-average OL play

Maybe, Ive found that bad Oline play and bad QB play usually are a result of one another. Olines look shitty when their QB holds the ball or rolls out when he is supposed to stay in the pocket and QB's look shitty when their Oline misses assignments. Its usually not just one thats the problem. Its typically both.

Nah. He needs to show enough improvement to keep defenses honest. Really, the amount of improvement needed is not that great. Just needs to hit a few more passes in critical moments.

^^actually i agree with you. 2-3 more passes per game (last season he averaged like 12-22 or something like that) would be perfect. so something along the lines of 14 or 15-22

don't ask me why, but im truly not worried about the D-line this year. do i think they will be great? no. but i think they will be much improved over last year. Cam and Baker as seniors, Ankrah as a 2nd year starter, and great depth developed because of Crick's injury sets up nicely for this year
