There is no way Penn State recovers in the next 15 years. Notre Dame could be great if they got a decent coach. Miami isn't doing anything in that craphole they call a stadium.

Inciteful. Thats why several Superbowls have been played there. I'm not a big fan of the stadium either but craphole might be strong.
Then again, if all you got is the stadium to hit on...

I think that the thing that hurts Miami the most (and it has shown the last decade or so) is the emergence of schools like UCF and USF as destinations where kids can go and have legit shots at the NFL. Add in teams like Louisville and Cincy who recruit regularly down there. Is and the program is just not getting the recruits that they once got. It is a small, private school that has a low level of fan support. It no longer has any real swagger and has not even been a player in the ACC since the first year they were in. It is an uphill climb, and if you factor in more possible sanctions, and conference realignment that does not seem to favor them at all, I think we are seeing the slow death of a program.

I posted a long writeup about 6 years ago on the ESPN boards and unfortunately it seems to be coming true.

Personally, I don't have as much hate for Miami as a lot of Hokies do and even find myself rooting for them quite a bit, but the team and program just is not what they once were.

I honestly think that these three programs are headed downhill and won't be actual contenders for the next 50 years.

The era of the small private school working in a sport with 100 ayers is over and Penn State is done.

50 years?

really?

lol, thats a long time
