Just because he wanted to play is no reason to let him play hurt. Shanahan as the head coach should have kept him out.
That's not what you said. You said he forced him.

I did? The point is that Shanahan should have kept him out of the game.

Guns... the thing is, Shannahan should NOT have needed to force him to sit. Lets say you are a manager of 50+ people on a project that has a hard time line.

If one of your guys walks up limping, and you ask him.. .dude do you need to go home so as NOT to risk the project. This guy who you has trusted ( even guardedly) all year tells you, Im good, its just a sprain. DO you sit him, or trust him based on his prior performance?? I know i have let men go back into the field on their word even when I had a doubt. Because to me, when a man says I got this, I dont expect him to come back later and say... well you should have protected me from myself.

RGIII had a gimpy knee and I'm surprised the team doctor cleared him to play. It seemed like they acted out of desperation instead of the best interests of the team.

I think he acted out of desperation actually. Fact that Shannahan drafted Cousins kinda showed he didnt have faith in Griffin. And Girffin did every thing he could to hold off what eventually has happened. Cousins getting a chance to start for an extended period of time.

Griffin will get another shot. And for that Im happy for him. I just think he had alot more to do with his eventual failure in DC than some people are willing to accept.

Mike Shanahan is not a doctor. He has to listen to the doctors who actually know the human body.

If you never play a guy that is hurt, then you won't have a roster.

First, it was Dr. James Andrews that said he was fine. He also stated RG3 faced no real chance of re injury. It was a fluke.

Dr. Andrews
Evidently the doctor made a bad decision.

I remember a story about Danny storming into the teams locker room after a loss and screaming at the coaching staff. Norv Turner had security forcibly remove him from the room and Norv was fired as head coach shortly after this incident.

A player doesn't trump the head coach.

He did in 2012. The other thing you're not taking into account was the fact that RGIII was concealing the extent of his injury to Shanny. One notable example of this was captured on NFL Films, which caught RGIII telling Trent Williams not to tell anyone how badly he was hurt.

Give me a fucken break and stop comparing your life to these situations.

If you don't think RG3 and Gruden had issues with each other and that RG3 wouldn't like to prove Gruden wrong, then I can't convince you otherwise.

Dude, Im just trying to put it into context. Gruden did what coaches are supposed to do. Play the guy that gives his team the best chance to win games. Contract, draft position, skin color, or endorsement ratings SHOULD not matter. Sure Gruden and Griffin had issues.

Gruden wanted a QB who could run his offense, Griffin thought he was Gods gift to the position and figured all he needed to do was step onto the field and let every one witness his magic.

Fact.. two coaches have now deemed him as NOT anything more than an option QB.
Fact.. Griffin pushed the point that he wanted to be a pocket passer and failed at it.. twice.

Sure he can come back and try and prove Gruden was wrong to give up on him. But from what we have seen, his safest bets are to go sit behind Romo, or go where ever Chip Kelly lands. Because unless he magically learned to read defenses, throw the ball away, audible, and for GOD sake slide..... I see a less controversial Mike Vick story in his future.
