How in theeeeeeee hell did they estimate this?

:L @ Texas. They should be winning a national championship every 2 years with their 5-star athletes and millions of dollars raining down on the program every day

I have know idea. The article says it took 2 years to do.

I did notice that private schools like USC & ND were omitted.

I can't believe Texas is so high.

8 of the top 15 are SEC teams. LOL @ Kentucky at #20!

It's not just based on earnings, it's their market value.

Brewer valued the college football franchises the way a Wall Street analyst would value a business operation, based on cash flow history and myriad other factors.

LoL at the top 2.
Last 30 years, 1 championship, combined.

So who are the real winners? Do the fans see any of that money?

I'm happy to have been able to celebrate 2 championships during my lifetime, I feel for Georgia .

In fact 3 of the top 10 do not have a BCS championship. That's crazy money being spent on and made by Georgia, Penn State and Michigan. Committed Fans.

If he's using historical cash flows (as opposed to projected cash flows), then his analysis is wrong.

<-- Was a Wall Street analyst and knows.

Miami not even on the list makes me wonder about it's validity.
I know we have a very small budget compared to Texas and such but we did recently get a $65M donation.

Yay, Tennessee is tenth and we still stink. I guess it has to do with the fact that 5 teams in our own conference are above us. I wish Tennessee would go join Big East, we would be in a BCS bowl every other year.

UAB should be in the red, but they are helped by their market value?

How about you read the article before you question it's validity... it specifically says that teams like USC, ND & MIAMI are not on the list because they are private schools. Private schools don't always release all of the financial records to the public.

What's wrong? You disagree?

The top three schools I mentioned worth that much money are putting a mediocre product on the field of play so I choose to take pitty on the poor souls who buy their products and support mediocrity. Sorry for ya since you team happens to be one of them.
