All I know is I want a 66 Chevelle SS. I take a Malibu but I'd still pine for that BAD ASS SS.

Chevrolet did not come out in 1966 with a Chevelle Malibu SS until 1967. I had a 1966 Malibu with a 327 and a stick that I eventually dropped a 4 speed in it. I believe the Nova SS wasn't until 67 either.

Chevelle and a 67' Malibu? I haven't been able to find the answer. Same motor, same weight and same length. Yet, the Malibu is cheaper.

Not sure if this helps. I own a show quality `67 Sport Coupe. Some people have called it a Chevelle Malibu.
After reading your OP, I went to look at the badging on the car.
On both rear quarters, there is a chrome Malibu emblem done in cursive script. Same on the panel just above the glove box.
On the rear panel between the tail lights is a CHEVELLE emblem done on capital letters. Its location is on the passenger side.
This is not an SS model and the only script inside the car is the Malibu emblem above the glove box.
The title might shed some light but I'm too damn lazy to look it up.
