After two weeks against lesser competition the Sooners so far have given us a pretty good look at what this team will be like in 2014.

The Positive:
Offensive and defensive lines look really good. Running back by committee looks to be the way to go. Ford, Ross, and Perine have been exciting to watch.

The Concerns : (for me anyway)
Defense seems to be either not interested in playing once they have a big lead or they are out of shape. I saw this in the first game and thought well the adrenaline from the first half has worn them out. And then in yesterdays matchup the same thing. They look great for 2 quarters and then come out uninspired. Now against LA Tech and Tulsa this didn't mean anything but in a tougher game later on in the season this could be a problem.

Wide outs meaning Shepard looks great. Still worried who is going to show up opposite of Sterling. Neal looks like he has that potential but not consistency yet. We are incredibly thin at this position and could use some help (Damn NCAA! Now I see why we wanted DGB so bad).

Knight looks good on everything but the deep ball. I know he can't hit them all but I would like to see his percentage improve and to go to someone besides Shepard.

I guess we will get a better estimate of where we stand against Tennessee next week. The talent level will definitely be better. Like to see this team put a full 4 quarter beat down the Vols .

Knight is good, but improving. Deep ball beds to improve and I think it will.

Heupel still calls questionable plays at times, but seems infinitely improved since last season. He usually seems to have a reason for calling the plays he does at least.

The team is executing their assignments very well on both sides of the ball. This team seems to play very disciplined football.

Our O-Line and defensive front 7 are bad ass.

Shepard is a stud. Neal and Young seem to be improving. I have faith they will give knight some additional options. I am loving the blocking we are seeing from the WR's.

I think I like bell as a red zone target. Should be another weapon for Knight down on the goal line.

We have a power running game and it is glorious.

This team can beat you in a lot of ways, making them very difficult to beat.

Defense needs to play a full 4 quarters of solid football.

hope it's a sign of good things to come, but I'm not gonna get real excited after beating a couple of sisters of the poor teams.

We have another turd bird team in the Vols, which I expect us to dominate them in all facets of the game.

we wont get a true test till K-State and then Baylor.

Go Boomer Sooner!

Not so sure West Virginia is just going to roll over for us.

And the Vols have talent and will be hyped up to play us. WVU on the road is going to be a very easy game to lose if we go in there with the big head. Texas isn't going to roll over and play dead either. Seems to me that they were a 14 point dog last season before they put a beat down on us. Everyone seems to be concerned with Baylor but to me they are the least of our worries. They come to Norman and that makes a huge difference. The game that has me the most concerned is going to Lubbock. Those battery throwing idiots always bring their own refs to the game.

one thing I have noticed is the Defense is hitting harder and lots of gang tackling.
the past couple of years, a 2nd or 3rd defensive player wouldn't get in on the tackle if it looked like the first guy had it, even though they should have.

don't see any whiffing on tackles this year either.
Good stuff

Well defense looks good but offense is inconsistent and can't seem to just man up and run it in the end zone when they get inside the 10. WVU is gonna give us a game unless we step it up. I like the pressure the defense is bringing and not the laying back in zone crap. The only time Tennessee had success was when we sat back in zone and gave WR's a big cushion. Would like to see Knight pull the ball from the running back more and take off. I know he may not hold up for an entire season if he does but he has to do it to loosen up the D. Tennessee had 8 and 9 guys in the box all night and we didn't make them pay for it like we should have. All in all a good win and something to build on. Wanna see this team improve each week but didn't see much on offense this week.
