Suh's shouldn't have been a penalty, let alone a fine or suspension. Matthew's was much much worse.

Suh blocked below the knees and it is an illegal block below the waist because it is considered downfield. Should it be a legal block? That is up for discussion. But he was most likely fined because of his long history of cheap shots and his reputation as a dirty player.

As for Matthews... It was just a dumb play on his part.


That being said, I agree with you in principle. Let the players play the damn game.
