It's like you know baseball. How about sliders?
NL pitchers are a tough out.Gerrit Cole:
2017: 8.69 K/9
2018: 13.87 K/9
not sure what to make of it. that's a crazy jump though.
Trevor Bauer speaks the truth?
There is something going on, Im convinced
Justin Verlander - HOF career, but was seen as a pitcher on the downside in his last days in Detroit, now easily pitching better than he ever has
Gerrit Cole - Mid 4's ERA in a far inferior offensive league last season, now absolutely unhittable
But Charlie Morton takes the cake, as he continues to come out of nowhere to be one of the best pitchers in baseball
Something not right

Yup, you take a pitcher with a HOF career, a #1 overall draft pick, and an emerging talent and the must be cheating because they are all excelling.
So why is a recent Cy Young winner (Dallas Keuchel) not lighting it up? You would think he would also have a sub 2.00 ERA if there was cheating involved.
He was arguably the best pitcher in the AL in 2016 and him or Kluber probably should have won the CYA over Porcello. He struggled a bit last year in Detroit with walks, but that may have had something to do with the Tigers' catchers inability to frame pitches. McCann was the worst among all catchers in RAA per StatCorner, sitting dead last at -30.2. Avila also rated pretty poorly at -16.2.

Cole never "had a mid-4 ERA", he has a lifetime ERA of 3.36 and his worst ERA was 4.26. He was also the #1 pick in 2011. He's also been throwing his curveball a lot more since joining Houston and they're known for making pitchers throw more curveballs and fewer fastballs. He's thrown 153 curveballs in 8 starts, he threw 401 last year. He had 190 in 2016 (granted he missed about half the season) and only threw 253 in 2015. He has a 54.8% K% on his curveball so far this year,
it's also 8 starts.
