Agree, I don't like the idea of retiring numbers either. Let the guys that are playing the game have their choice of number (could hurt in recruiting not having a certain number available, crazy as it sounds).
I like the ring of honor idea, statues ect.. But leave the numbers alone, at least IMO.

I do not like the idea of retiring numbers, honor great players by name, and let other players wear the number and try to outdo the guy who came before, or wear that number as an honor to someone you looked up to.

I would say the criteria that currently exists is good enough...you have to be in the college football hall of fame...other than that you should have a ring of honor with name only..

Oh, and Pat White, mainly b/c how he brutally and thoroughly raped the fucking Land Thieves in the Fiesta Bowl. I've always said White should have been arrested after that game for r*pe. I think Pat White just scored again against the Pooners......
