There's a lot of talk about having a porous offensive line and a quarterback that needs to take a step up this year, but what does it mean to take a step up for young Mr. Haskins?

What must his numbers look like in order to convince you that Washington has its guy?

Considering the projected offensive line woes, is it possible to attain your quarterbacking numbers?

Beyond the numbers, what other metric will you use to make this judgement?

I think when you look at film clips you should see good decision making , proper reads and mechanics .

I not sure pure numbers do it

For me, numbers mean very little because we have no idea what the offense will look like.

I think the OL will be better than most believe for the reasons I have already shared. But, if I am wrong, that will play a role.

Most importantly for me, accuracy and reads, while commanding the offense. Hopefully, he is given the freedom to do just that, and hopefully, he has earned it.

I agree that there must be an overall evaluation, but I'm equally sure that we have posters who will look only at his numbers as THE basis upon which they make this decision.

We dropped a 1st round pick on him, he is in year two of his rookie contract.

Is he a long term solution?? Dont know. But if we are going to turn from him now we damn sure better have a better option lined up.

Besides, I think 2020 becomes a mulligan year and either there is no football, or a shortened season.

Its less about numbers and more about decision making. Can/does he make the right reads? Is he decisive? Can he get the protection set correctly? There there are intangibles. Is he is command? Is his offense following him? Haskins has the physical tools. He can make the throws. We just need to see continued growth in these other areas, as we did see growth in them last year.

I need to see him win 11+ games, throw for 4800+ yards, no less than 32 TD passes, no more than 9, no, 8 INTs, kickin 70% comp in the ass with 8 yards or better ypa. He also needs to rush for about 500 yards and score 6 - 8 rushing TDs. Discover a cure for The Rona, bring peace to the Middle East, eliminate starvation in Africa, bust a cap in in the ass of NK's Kim and get Kraft's Super Bowl ring back from Putin's schiesty ass. Oh and mandate that China's Xi Jinping has 1 year to turn China into a democratic nation on Duane's gonna roll up on his ass like sleeves bumpin Scarface's No Tears and Xi will know that's his ass right there.

I honestly wish that he's given until 2022, unfortunately, he has one very limited shot at this. If he's not instantly Brady he's out. If he's saddled with a porous offensive line and can't rise above their failure, he's out. If the OC can't figure out how to effectively use his players, he's out. Excepting those who have already made judgement on him, he's going to be judged on his numbers whenever the time comes when he's able to post them.

@dad posted 2020 statistical predictions in another thread. Borrowing from that prediction, will this be enough to make Haskins a keeper?

2020 prediction: 63% 3780 yards 27 TD’s 9 INT’s

he wont get that but yes i think its about 3200 yds 20 tds and 10 ints . the guy is learning a new system with limited prep , and is essentially a glorified rookie .

Sty you are 100% right he should get till 2022 to work out in fact that is when this team should be looking like a perennial playoff team and not the hit and mostly miss type of team we currently have

I want to play. I will say 215 yards per game, 61% comp, 1.47 TD/game with .62 ints

So just a bit less than what the author predicted.

His numbers: 63% 3780 yards 27 TD's and 9 ints.

Your numbers: 61% 3440 yards 24 TD's and 10 ints. ( last two rounding up)

Not bad, it will be interesting to see what others have to post, although I have to admit there are folks here who have already made up their minds on him.

Those numbers are mind blowing by any stretch, but I don’t believe the offense is going to air it out. I believe this will be a defensive, run it down your throat type of team, because that is how it is built. DL has four first rounders, five if you include RK, with another PB in Ion. We have a suspect OL with a young QB. Do we really think he is going to drop back 40 times per game? Nope.

So my point is...those numbers are just fine.
