Kershaw wasn't hurt these past two months and Bauer was ... not the jerk he is ... what do you think the standings would look like today ....
Great question, I think it would still be close but they’d be a couple games up. That said, so they make the trade for Turner/Scherzer if those two were playing and healthy?Kershaw wasn't hurt these past two months and Bauer was ... not the jerk he is ... what do you think the standings would look like today ....
Great response ... all of Sherzers starts have been wins and Turner has provided some real effective offense. Not a complete wash .... but probably closer than must of us would have realized.Great question, I think it would still be close but they’d be a couple games up. I'm not sure you can really say "Kershaw is not Kershaw anymore" ... he went 22-7 for the prior 2 years (16-5 and 6-2) ... this year has been his only off year ... and that may be attributed to the injury. But ... Scherzer has definitely closed the pitching gap for them. With that in mind ... the only real impact is the loss of Bauer...I am actually not certain there is a lot of room for improvement in what the doggies have done. Kershaw is not Kershaw anymore, but Bauer would have helped, but how many extra wins would they have actually gotten? I am not sure that would be a big number
Dogs on pace for 101.6 winsBut both the Giants and doggies are on pace to win about 105 games. Squeezing more out of that is HARD.
