What If? 3/21 (Draft Crazy special)

From CBS Sprouts with a wild, crazy trade with Jaguars. We trade 20 for a second and two thirds. I’m sure everyone will like this trade, but seems REALLY far-fetched to me:

36. Some dude named Omarion Hampton, TB, NC
51. Trey Amos, CB, Ole Miss
85. Jack Bech, WR, TCU
86. Omarr Norman-Lott, DT, Tennessee
88. Logan Brown, OT, Kansas

PS there was also a mock trade down with Chargers, so I assume we picked up another one or two picks. This would indicate George Paton is running the draft!)

I don't know about the players but the trade would be sweet. We don't need a 1st round pick at #20 if we can get more picks on day two and pick at the very top of the 2nd round.

No way we get Hampton at 36 but if this actually happened... I would lose my mind.

Amos is good value at 51. Not as high on him as some who have him in Rd 1 because he really came on this year and still a bit of a project but at 51, yes please. Didn't really impressed until this yar but he has a great frame and did have a good year so hard to complain about him especially at 51.

Jack Bech would be a feel good story after his brother died in the New Orleans explosion on New Years. (Would rather Xavier Restrepo though) Restrepo does something other WR's on our roster don't do.

Norman-Lott is fine there.

I can't complain with this draft but I don't like the Logan Brown pick. Not a big fan ad we have depth at OT. Enough that we haven't even re-signed Quinn Bailey yet who Payton really likes and is now healthy.

My best case mock right now would go.

Rd 1- Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina
Rd 2- Mason Taylor, TE, LSU
Rd 3- Xavier Restrepo, WR, Miami (don't think he will be there with our pick in rd 3 though, he is more of a RD 2 pick, IMO but most people have him in Rd 3)

with Engram it takes away a major need at TE but I am still open to drafting a young TE like Arroyo, Taylor that I feel confident could be our long term TE.

This draft would be like a B-. I like the players but we could definitely do better with 5 Day 2 picks.

Hampton, Taylor and Restrepo is an A+ draft.
