My nephew's wife just purchased a Ruger EC9s this week...she got the purple model.

She also likes the 9 round magazine better than the standard 7 round due to the larger grip provided by the 9 round mag. I held her EC9s with both mags and agree with her that the grip is much better with the 9 round mag.

Sure, the 9 round mag makes the gun slightly less concealable, but the better control allowed by the larger grip is worth sacrificing a bit of concealability IMO.

Here is the standard 7 round mag:

And the 9 round mag for the EC9s:

I have yet to even put the pinky extension on mine. Still shooting it in the smallest version and still enjoying this little gun. Which I suppose is odd since I have large mits.

Picked up a "Chinese Mystery Pistol". These were produced in the factories of various Chinese warlords in the 20s and 30s copied from European designs. The Mauser C96 Broomhandle was particularly popular in China at this time and this one features a Broomhandle action on it and is chambered in 7.63 Mauser just like a Broomhandle. After thoroughly inspecting it, my gunsmith test fired it and it worked flawlessly. I'm looking forward to taking this baby to the range.

The trademarks are made up and meaningless. For whatever reason, in their zeal to copy European stuff, the Chinese also tended to copy (or invent) trademarks to stamp all over their guns. This one is not import marked and everybody I've talked to about it agrees it was very likely a WWII bring back which would explain the lack of an import mark.

Picked this up for my wife's Mother's Day gift. Charter arms Lavender Lady in 38 special. She was very excited when she opened it. There's a gun show this weekend. Debating between another AR build or another carry gun.

A few new acquisitions....

Astra 400 Nazi Contract. A lot of people don't realize the Nazis bought 6000 of these from Spain during the war.

A CZ 24. This was the standard sidearm of the Czechoslovak Army. Once the Nazis rolled in and occupied Czechoslovakia in 1938, they just took all the pistols and used them to equip their own forces.

A Jaeger pistol. This was used by Germany in World War I. These things are rare and even more rare is one that has an imperial acceptance waffenamt stamp showing it was accepted into the arsenal by the German army.

Very nice. Is she going to use it as a carry gun? If so, will you have a gunsmith bob-off the hammer spur? It's approx. a $35 - $40 job.

Yes, this will be her carry gun. I doubt she'll want the spur bobbed. She likes the traditional hammer look.

Wife bought me this for Fathers Day / Birthday. Glock G43X. Sub-compact 9mm, 10 round mag +1. SUPER easy to conceal and carry. Shoots like a dream! It's now my new EDC weapon.

I bought a Benelli Nova 12 guage pump on Friday. Haven't had a shotgun in the cabinet for a few years. Now I have to get a slug barrel for it before next deer season.
