I haven't read Fear Agent, but I just borrowed the library editions from a buddy of mine so I was curious what people here thought.

I definitely recommend giving Locke & Key a shot.

I read volume 1 but tbh the 80's and 90's stuff is not my favorite. I've heard it gets better as it goes along, so maybe I'll pick it up again down the line.

Nothing like it. It's more dark, almost with a horror/sci fi vibe. There are 6 volumes of it, it's written by Joe Hill(Stephen King's son). It's pretty badass man, and it's finished if you want to sink your teeth in.

P.S. I am a huge fan of Y: The Last Man too.

Being a comic newb, is there a connection I'm unaware of between Y: the last man and Preacher? They both contain protagonists that possess "Fuck Communism" Zippo lighters? Both being Vertigo comics is the only connection I noticed? Kinda cool tho.

No connection that I'm aware of. Y: The last Man was also slated for a tv show, nor sure if that's still happening but it sounds like a story that would do well on tv.

I don't think he's writing more. There were a couple of one shots that came out afterwards but I think that's it.

Preacher paid homage by it. Ennis said so himself. Trust me you'll love Y.

Yeah Volume 1 was wack. By the third volume it starts to get awesome. I got to about the sixth (out of twelve) and then got busy. I might start fresh because it was awesome.

I read the comic (2.5/5 stars) saw the first film and utterly hated it- but I did enjoy Part 2. The slicing villains drove me freaking crazy

Finished Y; The Last Man last nite. Pretty good stuff. I think I liked Preacher a little better, but a good series, nonetheless.
