I agree with the rule changes being silly but this is the first pro bowl that resembled decent football in a long time.
I thought it was the most competitive Pro Bowl in a LONG time. Something actually worth watching for a change.
It did end up being more competitive but it's a long way from being anywhere that makes me care.
The format of how Sanders and Rice were captains and they drafted a team was cheesy I thought.
And the whole thing with Sanders saying publicly he was going to suit up for the game, then the NFL publicly announcing he will NOT play in the Pro bowl seemed either contrived like a staged way to publicize it knowing full well fan interest in the game has been waning in recent years, or it was Sanders just being himself, and I don't know which is worse.
Still wish though that this game had more meaning than just which players make a little more money. In the other major sports don't all of their all-star games mean something when it comes to the Championship game. I know baseball it decides who is the home team.
Nope. Baseball is the only sport with that idiotic rule, and it wouldn't work for the NFL anyway, since by design the Super Bowl is on a neutral site (unless by some off chance the team of the host stadium makes it, which so far has never happened).
Kinda sucks when some player from some other team that has no chance of making the playoffs gets to help decide which team is home for the World Series. Should be by record, or alternating.
