Which is not a knock. When Russell sees his WR with 3 steps on the DB and pulling the last thing he wants to do is overthrow him and lose the reception altogether. That was still a very well thrown ball from the pocket.

Yeah to me it was very well thrown and pretty much on the money. It wasn't an Aaron Rodgers dart on a rope perfectly in stride like we see to the likes of Cobb, Jordy and back in the day Jennings but Russ threw it well.

I'm excited to see how this offense is going to look with Russ and his full arsenal of weapons. Jimmy is going to it up for Baldwin, Kearse is solid, and Lockett continues to prove that he is a game breaker.

Christine Michael probably locked up a spot last night. Depending on how bad Turbo's ankle is, Rawls may have as well. Think we may be rolling off the throttle on Fred Jackson.

Marsh had a really nice game too. Not a single starter played on D last night and it was still dominant. Really encouraged by what we've seen on that side of the ball all pre-season.

What's the feeling on Chris Matthews? We thought the SB was his break-out performance, but he has done absolutely nada this pre-season. Meanwhile, guys like Kasen Williams and Kevin Smith are out there making plays. With the utility BJ Daniels brings being able to play multiple spots + ST, does Matthews even make this team?

Hard to say because we don't know what is being asked of him. IMO, he really is more of a one trick pony type player because he doesn't have great speed.

I believe Matthews was hurt diving on a tackle in the first pre-season game. Shoulder.

Listening to KIRO/ESPN today and a few of them thought Matthews may be out and the battle for 6th WR is between Williams and Smith. Kearse, Baldwin, Lockette, Lockett and BJ Daniels the first five. No one on earth woulda thought that Matthews might be out after his SB breakout. But if he's cut, he'll be snatched up quick enough, probably by the Jags, but wouldn't it be ironic if the Packers grabbed him?
