I'm gonna give my 2 cents worth here and try to keep it to two.

I enjoy the threads on here when they can give me some insight into the goings on in Nebraska sports. I am in TN and don't get a lot of info down here. Witht hat said recently it seems to me that there has been a division on this board.

There are a few who are long time posters who want all posts to follow a certain line that will not question the favored line of thought. I have been ridiculed simply for posting reasons to support a position that is not the favored thought by those who deem themselves to be the judges of correct thought. This is exactly why this site has been a success up until now because those who tired of the games at Jisney chose to take refuge here.

But this line of thought will only end up with the same thing Jisney became. I community where none of the issues facing our teams or us ourselves could be discussed because the pc police do not allow opposing thoughts.

As for Jed, Jed can be an asshole as well as almost every other poster on here and I can see how he has tried to tone it down after his suspension but there are one or two on this board who are hell bent to get rid of him regardless of what he does or doesn't do. It has even been taken to the water cooler at times to try to gain support from the entire community when Jed doesn't even frequent that part of the site.

My suggestion would be these people put the butthurt behind them and put him on ignore if he really is such an irritant.

But if this forum is going to be operated by a few and only those in their good grace are to be allowed please ban me also because I did not come here for any thing like that but to avoid it.

Finallly Irule I have the greatest respect for how you have handled this.

I voted "No Ban."

My reasons for this is as follows:

1) I am a grown adult, and I think I can handle someone disagreeing with a lot of what I say.

2) Jed has been a Husker poster ever since I started posting way back in the day over at Disney.

3) He does shed good insight, and when he's not shedding insight he's basically pissing a good handful of us off........which keeps things from getting old around here.

4) The dude is going through some tough times right now. I was going through some very difficult times last year and having this site to bullshit with ya'll really helped me out a lot. I know RA has said this place really helped him as well, and I assume it's helping irule get through some tough times right now.

I voted no ban. Jed and I have been on opposite sides in the past, though not as much as some. I don't have an issue with differing opinions. Is he sometimes a Douchebag....yes. Am I sometimes a douchebag? Yes. Jed adds to the 'culture' of this site. This site is unique to any other I have been a part of. We are all allowed, for the most part, to be individuals. I would hate to see that get taken away from any of us.
