Ok, so it is a penalty if you kick the ball out of bounds on a kick off. Is it still a penalty if that kick off goes backwards 12 yards and out of bounds?

and i think if the ball is past the 35 you get it where the ball went out, so in this case they would get theball where it went out

That was awesome! And to answer the question......I don't know. I tried looking up the rules online for kicks going out of bounds but it is unclear because the rules state that if the ball goes out of bounds on an onside kick untouched then it's a 5 yard penalty and the kicking team gets to kick again.

For some reason I don't think that is right........I always thought the receiving team just got the ball at the point where the ball went out of bounds on an onside kick.

So my guess is that the receiving team just got to take the ball where it went out of bounds in that game...........I don't know, VERY weird

Yes it is still a penalty- in technicality.........



However, with that penalty you always have the choice to take the ball where it went out.......



Penalty declined... is the simple answer..
