I would say there are more "starters" on byes this week, than last week (also six teams), and definitely any other week. Some of you (hopefully most) have prepared for this ahead of time... but for those that have not, let's look at shallow (10-12 team) and deeper (14 team and up) league options...

With Peyton, Stafford and Kaepernick resting up...
QB: Jake Locker - go get him if he's available, he's quietly been very productive and has a 'generous' schedule.
QB: Nick Foles - poor Vick goes down again, and Foles looks primed to go again, at the Raiders isn't an easy task, but Foles has been better on the road in his short career, for whatever that's worth... and he wants it.

With Moreno, Reggie, Gore, MJD and the new little Ellington gathering steam....
RB: Mike Tolbert - the big fella seems to be more involved each week and has a porous Falcons defense on deck.
RB: Tashard Choice - Fred is one hit away every week, and with Spiller out, he should keep seeing an increased workload, and call me crazy, but I think the Bills upset the undefeated Chiefs at the Ralph. (and those of you who know me know I'm not a "crazy Bills fan")

Bye, bye Megatron, Fitz, Cruz (Nicks and Randle), Blackmon (Shorts), Boldin and if anyone took a chance on some Broncos' receivers....
WR: Jeremy Kerley - Geno has been good, bad, good, bad..etc... I see no reason to break the trend when they host the Saints, and Kerley is a big part of that.
WR: Rod Streater - only one week under 40 yards, and I think he's due for a TD at home against the Eagles.

Probably only talking Julius Thomas and Vernon Davis here...
TE: Dallas Clark - with Torrey getting Haden's attention (despite his 7 catches in week 2), I think Clark gets a few more looks than normal this week.
TE: Scott Chandler - okay, give me shit for having two Bills' on here, but there might be something in the air in Orchard Park.

I must be bored...:lame:

This is a really cool idea for a thread. Another WR I'd throw out there is Marlon Brown. Torrey SMith will draw the attention from Haden, and the Browns have a stout run defense, so I could see Brown finding his way into the end zone (like he did the first time against them this year). Another name is Ted Ginn. Going up against that poor Atlanta pass defense, he is a great candidate to continue his breakout season this week.

Shit, pretty much my whole team is either on bye or hurt so those options you are showing look mighty inviting. As of right now I have bids in for TPryor (dropping Hillis who served his purpose and I thank him........now GTFO) and dropping Hartline for Walker................was looking at Clark but Chandler might be worth a second look. Really hate to drop Hartline now with Gibson gone he will get more looks. Did offer up a trade to the Peyton owner and I doubt he'll take it but hope he counters.......I send JT80 and Vereen for Stacy and Jorden Reed............hoping he counters back with something involving draft picks...........I know he wants JT to pair up with Peyton.

Of course, there is the old pick up what others drop technique but that just hasn't really been there this year. Maybe this is the week?

Good thread.

I have both Reggie Bush and Moreno out on bye this week.

Was able to pick up Mike Tolbert and Donald Brown and will be starting them. Tashard Choice is available in my league, but I think I like the Brown start over him

I agree Brown is the better start...and it even looks now like Spiller might be active, so that would totally negate any fantasy relevance for Choice.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders.

My picks:
  • I picked up the Ravens D/ST in a couple of leagues to replace the Broncos and 9ers D/ST.
  • Also picked up Tucker for Prater in the kicking dept. I like Gould too vs the Packers.
  • Alex Smith is available in some leagues too. He has a favorable matchup vs BUF.
  • Saw a blurb that Shonn Greene is gonna get at least 15 touches a game. (That may translate to only 15 yards total, but stranger things have taken place this season.)
  • I like Hopkins too. Single coverage and a tentative QB could be a good combination.
