I was never really that sold on Stanford. Had them at 14th I think in my rankings. They have really only performed well in 1 game this year IMO and at Washington is a pretty tough win ( at least it used to be...) Not shocked by that one. Mildly surprised yes. Shocked?? Nah.
here's how I would rank them for right now. Obviously does not count for anything
1. Alabama- Sadly the best opponent they played so far might have been Western Kentucky, that being said they have dominated their inferior competition far more than anyone else has.
2. Oregon- Impressive win over Arizona, they turn it over too much to be first.
3. Kansas State- big win over Oklahoma, like I was saying this is a really good team.
4. LSU- struggled with Auburn not very good, good news is the home win over Washington might be the most impressive non-conference victory for the SEC.
5. Georgia
6. South Carolina- If their offense keeps playing like it did every game except the Vandy one..watch out
7. Texas
8. Florida State- very impressive 2nd half against Clemson.
9. Florida
10. TCU- they have to fix their turnovers though
11. Oregon State- very impressive victories so far, some will think this ranking is high, oh well
12. West Virginia- they were given issues from the first half decent defense they played.
13. USC- the Stanford loss might have been more from poor coaching by Lane Kiffen. Good news is they got that Kiffen loss out of the way.
14. Oklahoma- So far Landry Jones is struggling like I predicted, not sure why I even ranked them this high.
15. Ohio State- struggled with UAB, not too good.
16. Clemson- they're a good team, but if they fall behind they seem to fall apart.
17. Northwestern- just because they represent the Big 10 right now
18. Baylor- theyre still a good team even without RG3
19. Notre Dame- good news is they have dominated in their wins, bad news is 3 of them are against Big 10 teams, and the Mac has pretty much been able to do the same.
20. UCLA
21. Ohio
22. Arizona
23. Louisiana Tech-I'm impressed they're blasting their opponents right now.
24. Boise State-homer vote in hopes that the offense improves, it needs to get better, was awful against BYU, and we lost to Michigan State because our defense was worn out from being on the field the entire 2nd half
25. Western Kentucky-this vote because they've won 9 of their past 11 only losses being to LSU and Bama
close:
Rutgers- they're looking pretty solid so far
Mississippi State- not sure why they're ranked, nearly lost to Troy and only decent win is over 1-3 Auburn.
Nebraska- I dropped them out now, was impressed with their opening win over Southern Miss, but Western Kentucky did pretty much the same thing.
Stanford- I actually was going to rank them but forgot, after losing to Washington they're not worth the effort to put back in. This will be fixed when I actually submit my poll saturday night.
Minnesota- other Big 10 representitive
Wisconsin- I was actually going to rank them as well, but forgot to. They really don't look as bad now. Northern Iowa was bad, but Oregon State looks to be a good team, Utah State did beat Utah, and UTEP gave every BCS conference school they played a tough time.
Texas Tech/Iowa State- both unbeaten with alright wins, winner has a chance of being ranked, depending on how other teams look
Mac Attack- LOL I had to do this
Tennessee
Michigan State-they really don't look to be that good at all this year
Louisville- they lost to these horrible teams last year, they're barely beating them now, so they're slightly better than last years 6-7 team. Still not enough to be relatively close to ranked.
Virginia Tech- just because I still could see them winning the ACC
Cincinnati
Oklahoma State- wow I'm slipping wanted to rank them as well
