This is very true. If the game was played and then Steelers players tested positive it would have been a shitstorm. This is the lesser of 2 evils, but the NFL is really lacking consistency here. They held no regard for the Packers' safety in week 9 TNF when practically half the 49ers team was quarantined.

Their next game is Washington.

I'd rather have more rest time before Baltimore than before Washington.

Not 100% positive, but I'm pretty sure the league protocol follows CDC/CDH guidelines of 2-week quarantine. Vance McDonald sat out 2 weeks. Rotoworld is saying that Lamar is OUT this week, as well as next week against Dallas on TNF. That's a big blow to the Ravens that are already reeling out of the playoff race.

ESPN's Jamison Hensley reports the Ravens believe Lamar Jackson contracted COVID-19 during the team's Week 11 loss to the Titans.​

Jackson took snaps from C Patrick Mekari, who has also tested positive. Jackson's game day locker is "close" to COVID positive J.K. Dobbins and Mark Ingram. Catching the virus during the game would be quite the development, as that is not something that has been documented during any American sporting event this year. Wherever Jackson contracted the virus, he is out for Week 12 against the Steelers — if it's played — and quite likely Week 13 vs. Dallas. That will depend when that game, originally scheduled for next Thursday, is played.

I think it was Tom Polissero that put some new perspective on this. He said that the league hasn't confronted a COVID case like this since the week 4 TEN-PIT game where more & more players are testing positive as they get closer to kickoff. Most times a player tests positive and then they quarantine a handful of players as a precaution, but no new positive tests come out. In this case they were getting positive results with each passing day.

Puts it into perspective as to why they handled this differently.

Have to admit that its somewhat suspicious that only 1 player is testing positive during each passing day... The team hasn't practiced this week... So if there was a super-spread event, you would think that these players would all be testing positive on the same day.

At least they aren’t going to cancel/forfeit the game... because that would have meant expanding the playoffs this year and screwing the Steelers out of a 1st round bye.

Blows me away that the NFL hasn't canceled this game. I feel fairly certain that the game will be safe to be played given that the Ravens haven't practiced for 9 days so nobody would be in contact with anyone that tested positive.

Still... Ravens are going to be extremely shorthanded. 7/11 starters on offense are out. 4 or 5 out of 11 on defense. Not to mention their depth pieces are completed depleted. An additional 13-14 depth players have tested positive. I'm guessing their entire practice squad will be activated.

I think the early portion of the game will be good... But eventually, you have to imagine the Ravens just won't be able to stay competitive. Hard to say... They have their backs against the wall so it still makes them a very dangerous team.
