After attending training camp today, it really hit me just how special that dude is. The way he goes up and gets the ball over defenders, you would think he was 6'3".

The Percy Harvin injury news today started made me realize just how brittle our whole receiving core is. Sidney Rice is injury prone. Percy Harvin is injury prone. And Doug Baldwins size alone raised injury concerns before he even missed alot of time last year to injuries.

We can not let Golden Tate go. Sign the man.

I would personally not have that mentality if I were a Seahawks front office exec.

One of the things I've noticed throughout the years is how great Golden Tate looks in training camp every year. He looks a lot better in training camp than in the game is what I'm trying to say.

I'm sure plenty of you will disagree with this statement but Golden Tate is a low end #2 WR who's biggest weakness is his route running and inability to get seperation. The reason why Golden Tate was not completely useless last year was due to Russell Wilson's mobility he had more time to run his routes.

The Seahawks have a ton of money already tied up in Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin. I think Golden Tate's future with the team really depends on what the team does with Sidney Rice. Rice is due $9m next year and is hardly worth half that, even when healthy. He will either restructure or get cut. If Rice gets cut the Seahawks will need a replacement, and I'm not sure they will view Tate as that guy. Even if Tate was an above average player, he is still short and I'm not sure how the Seahawks feel about trotting out 3 WRs below 6 feet tall.

I like Tate a lot, and he certainly has an uncanny ability to go up and get the ball for a guy his size, but I think whether or not the team re-signs him depends largely on 2 things: how much they'd have to pay him and what kind of player they think they have in Chris Harper. If Harper steps up as a dependable receiving option this season, I think they opt towards him, since he's both cheaper (for now) and bigger. Sure he may not have the same big play ability, but if you have Harvin and Rice going forward, I think he can be a solid compliment to those guys.

Have loved Golden Tate since the season we drafted him. He proved himself even further last year. He just goes up and gets the ball. He's Steve Smith #2 without some of the speed. Guy just makes plays.

If Seattle gets rid of Tate anytime soon I give up =)

Tate took awhile to develop. Had a great 2012. But I'm not completely sold till I can see him repeat that again in 2013. The talent is obviously there.
But I'm not going to rush out and make him one of the Top paid WRs in the league. Not now. I want him on the Seahawks, but I think he needs another season to prove his contract worth.

Tate is a crafty player... definitely stepped up last year and had a good thing going with Wilson... the dude has a toughness about him...
