Ron Brown's message to offensive players: "We ain’t giving up on you. We’re in this thing together with you as coaches. I'm in this thing with you. I’m going to bleed, I’m going to cry with you. I’m going to celebrate with you. We ain't going nowhere. I think that message more than anything is what makes greatness.
"If any team thinks they're just going to waltz through a season without a stumble, that doesn't happen very often."
Brown also asked Husker fans to stick with this team.
"Watch them learn from this tough situation, you watch them bounce back," Brown said. "You put your arms around Taylor Martinez and you love up on him because he's a talented young man. ... That's what you do. You don't go on social media and dog on the guy and rip him to shreds. That's the cowardly way out.
"That’s what our players have to learn. That you remove yourself from the cowards and stay with the brave people who are willing to stay in it with you and see this thing through the end."
Ron Brown is right. We sit on our little couches with our little computers on our laps, and we just rip on the guys who are actually doing the work. And we actually believe that our emotional investment........our money that we pump into the program.......actually justifies why we deserve a piece of the pie. We don't deserve shit at this point, because we're just a bunch of cowards.
