Wow, we're finally getting Spurs Warriors. NBA fans have been waiting years for this.
So ummm, do the Warriors still have the easier path to the Finals???

First of all, I never said they had the easier path. I said their paths were quite equal.

But, yeah, obviously this gives the Warriors the tougher path, as long as Kawhi is healthy.

I know you didn't say it, but you're currently the only Cavs fan here right now. :dhd:

Should be a really great series. I think Kawhi's injury will be fine for him to play on Sunday, without being held back much. I"m sure if yesterday's game was a game 7, they would have found a way to have him out there. Parker being gone is huge for the Spurs though too. Pop will have the team ready and he'll have a great game plan to go against the Warriors.

For the Warriors, it'll come down to defending the interior. Gasol and Aldridge are two premiere scorers in the post and that's going to be a challenge. I think what you'll see happen is Durant playing a lot more 4, and even Matt Barnes possibly too. The general philosophy I would think would be to have to double whoever is in the post that Draymond is not guarding. If that's going to be the case, it makes more sense to play smaller to be quicker on rotations. Then again, rebounding is also going to be an issue, so there's a give and take any way you slice it.

I think this series will ultimately come down to whoever is able to impose their will defensively. Both teams can score, both have dynamic scorers, but both teams are also elite defensively. It'll come down to who's able to get more timely stops.

Going to be tough.

Gotta stay BIG. Cant turn the ball over. And have to ignore the big offensive runs.

The Spurs need to win the total rebounding battle every game to have a chance.
The Spurs need to utterly dominate the offensive glass and stay out of foul trouble doing it.

The Warriors have most of the edges everywhere....but SIZE.
San Antonio has 4 guys at 7-feet. That is the one mismatch in their favor.

The Spurs will be big underdogs at 61-21.
Probably the biggest uphill climb they have faced since the days of the early 2000s Lakers.
I would love to see the Spurs steal this series from the Warriors. It would have me laughing.

I think a lot of fans want the Ws inevitably to go down hard. But the TV executives sure don't... officiating maybe a factor?

No because that doesn't happen or no because you don't think it will happen this time?

I mean I'm sure refs will have their bad moments as always but I don't think it will be because some fix is in to screw the Warriors. Some games it may seem like the Spurs got less whistles than the Dubs and vice versa

I think the series will be good one -if it's competitive, it will be the first one that is interesting - all of them have been boring and uninteresting so far. I have no preference either way, but I will say this - I don't think the win for the Warriors is a slam dunk like everyone thinks. As long as Popovich is coaching the Spurs, I would watch my back - lol

That's not going to be easy for anyone - except for me when the Spurs start kicking Curry in the balls. I assume everyone knows that the Popovich directs his team to play dirty in the finals.

Is that you Draymond?
