Yep jvett. Stick a fork in this one. Toastola. It is apparent, these guys want the all-star break to go home and hang-out-I guess. No sense of anything to day except losing.
Yea despite any off-the-field shenanigans Pete Rose may have been involved with, we could sure use his tenacious competitiveness attitude especially when it came to hitting. We have several mushheads on this team and when they get down, they don't bother to even exert any effort. Not Rose. He'd be out there scrapping until the last pitch. WE have little of that on this team.
Retro, not all is lost today... Your boy Altherr has a couple hits today and has his average up to .251. If he keeps this up , look for the phils to promote him to AAA next year. And Rupp is maintaining his .200 BA. He hasn't slipped below the mendoza lline yet!
I agree Westcoast. This team has two personalities: The one we saw against Milwaukee and the first game of this series against Washington and the other is the one we saw the last two games. Thanks for the Altherr update.
Looks like the talks between the Phillies and the Mariners are heating up over Byrd. I hope the Phils hang onto Byrd because he is a productive member of our offense. We shall see.
