Wow, not sure what to think about that one.

Honest question, is Denver running 3-4? He will be great as an OLB again.

The short answer is Yes and No. The long answer (although I will try to keep it short) is the Broncos call themselves a 4-3 defense but honestly they play a ton of hybrid systems where they have 3-down lineman. Von Miller actually is a better fit as a 3-4 OLB just like Ware so the Broncos like to really move him around. My guess is they will do that now more with Von and Ware on the same team.

Agreed, Fordman. Ware will be able to put up good sack numbers if he's a standing OLB in a 3-4 scheme. The Broncos are going for broke.

23-0 or 2014 is a failure for Denver after all these signings. Get it done Peyton!

New Nickname I just heard for the players. Von WareWolfe. Not too bad. Not quite a Von Doom that we used to have but I think they will make up for it in actual play on the field.

Interesting that Denver and Dallas ended up simply exchanging Defensive ends.....

3:15 p.m. -- The Cowboys signed Jeremy Mincey for $4.5
million over two years.

Ware killed it in his press speech. Thanked Parcells and JJ for all the love in Dallas (very classy), and then talked up about how pumped he was to have this chance. He was visibly shaking he was so excited. If he can stay healthy, I think he'll be worth every bit of that $13 million this year. The thought of he and Von on the edges just makes me drool.

Anybody got any insight on where this put us with the cap situation now? I'd have to think we're just about tapped out.

Talib, Ward and Ware. Unreal first 2 days of Free Agency for us. Ward was the one I wanted the most, but after hearing the nitty gritty on the Talib contract; that was a nice signing. Ware is gonna get paid bigtime this year, but again, if he's able to stay healthy I think he'll fit in great here.

Mrdoc we have just under $10 million in cap space. We can cut Dressen and tamme for another $5 million in space if we so choose

Yeah he did Doc. He looked like a puppy with two peters, he was so happy.

I love what the Broncos have done overall in the last couple of seasons. They sign older quality vets to short contracts, Welker, Ware, Phillips ETC and signed younger players to longer contracts like Ward, Talib, Vasquez ETC. It's no coincidence that the older vets contracts all expire around the same time that Manning's does. They will have a lot of money, good solid players and flexibility post Manning while giving the Broncos a great shot to win the SB now.

Peyton has no excuses now. He choked in the super bowl but the defense was so bad that he had no chance to win anyway, so the spotlight wasn't on his miserable performance. Now Elway made all the moves to give him a good defense. NO EXCUSE. Peyton is the greatest regular season QB ever, but a playoff choke artist. As evidenced by only 1 super win despite so many chances. A losing playoff record in his career. This is IT. He MUST win the super bowl next season, or he will go down as one of the biggest choke artists EVER. Pretty regular season stats don't mean much when you can't win when it really MATTERS.
