So Carl Yazstremski, almost top level HOFer, legend, his 1967 season was crazy...lifetime earnings estimated $10 million from 1962-1983

Mike Yazstremski, his grandson, nice player, sneaky good bat and Gold Glove level defense in RF, but nowhere near his grandpa's level (better fielder though), will not get a single HOF vote...lifetime earnings $37.6 million from 2019-2025 and he's 34 and still productive so should get a few more years of paychecks

Mike will probably finish his career earning like $60-65 million...even after inflation that's a hell of a lot more than Carl made

Just interesting to me

$10M sounds crazy……
I just Googled it and that was the answer AI gave me, didn't look closer. Your data looks better and makes my point even more dramatically

Yeah I see now that's where you got this chart...but it doesn't include the last 4 years of his career so the total is surely higher than $2 mil but surely lower than the $10 mil Google AI told me. Also 1976 and 1978 are not included on this chart.

So maybe $4 mil all in? Just makes the OP even more clear.

No one should earn more than 6 figures for playing with balls and sticks. What the hell is wrong with society. I haven't attended a sports stadium or purchased paraphernalia since 2002.

Did some research and found his salaries from the missing years….76’ $175K, 78’ $242K, 80’ $375K and 81-83 was $275K a season…..so about another $1.6M to his $1.9M total above…..

Bro I LITERALLY mentioned inflation. And even after adjusting for that Mike will make like 7-8x what Carl made (in far fewer years) Salaries have gone up exponentially faster than the cost of living

True that but 10 MM in 83 is equivalent to 32MM today. Either way, the Yaztremski family gathering must be pretty extravagant lol

And he only made under $4MM not my incorrect $10MM number. So around $12MM today vs the grandson making $60MM (so only 5x, after inflation). I guess Mike gets to pay for his HOF grandpa at the gatherings.
