Oh, and as for Boggs’s drinking record? Well, Charlie claims that while they were filming his scenes, the slugger pulled him aside and claimed that he actually drank 107 beers in a single day—that is, if you include the car to the airport, the flight, baggage claim, and that evening’s festivities.

I once joined something called the 100 beer club. You had to drink 100 beers (4 cases with a single empty can on top of each case) between 5pm Friday and midnight Sunday. Wasn't easy. 107 beers in a day? God bless em if he could actually pull it off.

I don't believe it's possible. I have a cousin who was a world class beer drinker in his day. Once I kept track of his beers from morn till we crashed which was abt 3 the next morn. Actually kept his empties separate so we could count them when all was done. Problem is none of us could stay awake as late as he did so we aren't exactly sure but over the course of the day/eve he drank over 40 cans of beer. Now I'm sure someone knows someone who drank more but just think about that for a minute. I can't see how someone can drink much more than that w/out dying or something happening other than taking a piss every 5 min.

I used to think the "Century Club" was a breeze (one shot of bear a minute for 100 minutes) until I tried it in college. That ends up being about 9 1/2 beers in 90 mins (approx. the same pace as 60 beers in 10 hour).

I spent too much time in the bathroom evacuating from both directions to believe that 60 in 10 is anywhere near possible.

100? Impossible even with gutter glitter. 60? High doubt it. When I was 21 I could drink 30 but was down for a day and a half afterward. In the last 18 months I've done probably 24 in one sitting and it'll likely be the last time ever. It's a dumb thing to do.

I've never tried it but I imagine someone would have to force themselves to throw up a few times to complete it.

We finished it, but there was a bit of leeway. For example, if we were in the bathroom when the timer went off, we were allowed to make it up when we got back.

I believe the strict rules of the game are no throwing up, and you have to take the "shot" immediately on the buzzer.

I always wound up burppuking. Not really vomit, just beer suds.

Doubt I ever take a shot of beer, competitive or not, again. The joys of being young and stupid.

My Dad claims to have known a guy who came back from 'Nam all fucked up and with superhuman drinking abilities. Dude was probably loaded up on coke but my Dad swears they traveled all over the area in the early 70s with a bar trick. They'd take bets that he could pour 18 beers in a huge pretzel bowl they carried and down the entire thing without stopping.

He never once failed.

I shotgunned a 40 one time, was drunk off my ass within 3 minutes and struggled mightily to keep it down. Every time I started the heaves my buddies would fall on the floor in hysterics.

60 is definitely possible. I've seen my dad knock out two 30 packs in a day a couple of occasions.
