Now, either Shane is blowing this kid full of hot air, or Chavis is delusional. No way Chavis goes to Blacksburg and immediately starts over Luther Maddy, Kris Harley, Derrick Hopkins, Zach McCray, Nigel Williams or Alston Smith.

He seems to be really excited about the Tenuta hire. He still considers himself a UVa commit, but he it does appear that he wants to take a few more visits. He is scheduled to visit UVa on the 18th, VT on the 25th, and Wake Forest on Feb 1st. Since UVa has the 1st visit, it will be crucial for them to solidify his commitment on his visit, because if they don't, he is likely gone.

How often does the 2 man rotation switch? I think Chavis may be under the assumption that he would be a full time starter, which is very unlikely considering the depth VT has.

I can guarantee that Shane Beamer is not promising Chavis that he'll be starting next season and if he were, Chavis would be silly to believe it. He probably is towing the same ol' line, that it's an open competition and that he can earn playing time from day 1.

Harris is still waiting but feels confident. Wright and McLaughlin should be in Blacksburg for the start of classes. I think the same is true for Smith and Baron.

I don't think we will steal Cook and Chavis, but I would give more credence to Cook because of our history with NFL DBs. If they make the trip, I say they ae ours, but I am skeptical they do after going to UVA the weekend before.

DTs next year:

Skip and Maddy will likely start and there will be an open comp between Harley, Baron, Williams and Smith for the other two spots. I wouldn't rule Collins out as a possibility either.
