Ville Leino: Has anyone noticed

Has anyone noticed that he is quietly putting together a very solid year. 3-9-12 +6 and has been very strong on the puck. Projections are 16-50-66 +33. I was thinking around 50 points this year, but over 60 would be pretty amazing for this point of his career. Also, I don't remember him taking any stupid penalties which haev plagued everyone else. Lets go Ville. He and DB have good chemestry. Time to sign him for a few years.

Wow, my pick of 15-45-60 at the beginning of the year is looking pretty good. It's almost like I knew what I was talking about while everyone else slobbered over him becoming a 30 goal scorer.

I agree. You cant say anything bad about him so far this year. His Detroit attitude certainly hasnt shown up in Philly. I would love for him to get locked up for a few years. Same with Claude. But someone would have to be moved most likely....and all fingers point towards Jeff Carter

If this guy winds up +33 I will purchase a Leino jersey and wear it every day to work with my tie on!

I would think the +/- may be the only stat that does not play out for the year. Otherwise in can see he be a 20 goal 60 point guy.

yeah i'd say in the 2.4-2.8 range for leino. next years looking very good. we at least know we have room to sign other guys

cap is going up but losing kimmo is a horrible mistake. why would you even consider that? hes still got 2-3 good years left in the tank. we can still afford other guys without losing kimmo.

Too early to tell, but rumblings about a 2012-13 lockout are mostly because the cap has gone up so much so quickly. I doubt it rises too much.

I think it's ironic that we've compared Leino to Carter in this thread because if there's one player Jeff Carter could learn anything from, it's Ville Leino.

I say this because Carter gets knocked off the puck so easily these days for such a big man and here's Ville Leino, a guy who is extremely difficult to check when he has the puck, all while giving up at least 3 inches in height and 20 lbs. If Carter could carry the puck even close to the way Leino does, he'd be a force to be reckoned with game after game all by himself. He'd be Ryan Getzlaf...lol

Fuck if we took Getz instead of Carts the Flyers would be cup winners already..uggghhh! IMO players show their true colors in their first 3 years tough to change them after that Carts is what he is you either love him for his 30-40 goals or trade him to someone else and say good ridence....bring in a tough winger who can score 30 and win a cup.

As for Leino love the guy exactly what the Flyers needed a puck possession guy who can distribute the puck well....they need to sign him now!
