A much better effort from the Kings on the defensive side of the game last night aiding another strong performance by Quick in net. Muzzin looked pretty good and got better as the game went on. He did have one of his bad turnovers at the blue line leading to a breakaway by Chris Stewart (I think) but Quick bailed him out by stopping the shot cold. After that he seemed much more diligent when handling the puck.

The offense was strong all night but Enroth had a good game in net. Good to see the power play come alive a bit. Two for three with both goals scored with Myers in the box. Kind of a weird stat. The offense really needs Gaborik back soon though. Also a strange scrap with Andreoff going against Myers. Andreoff held his own OK but had to resort to the takedown strategy to end it. Looked like he was having trouble reaching Myers' chin due to the height difference.

Anyway a fun game to watch with there never being much doubt in the outcome. Quite a few Sabers fans in attendance. Weeknight game against a rebuilding team without any stars must have led to the availability of tickets a bargain prices. Hoping for a similar effort against a tougher team this Sunday afternoon.

I have to apologize to Muzzin. Watching the replay of last night's game and now realize it wasn't Muzzin who had the puck stolen at the blue line leading to Stewart's breakaway but our all star defenseman Doughty who coughed up the puck. Muzzin was the guy getting back to disrupt the shooter.
