He retaliated to defend himself. How about that?
If i can take a shot in the head with a 10 lb dumbbell in the dark not fall not lose my temper and walk away...... I'm sorry I can't excuse him. The girl that hit me was charged with a felony not by my choice i would have been happy with a 5 minute major for blood :dhd:

Not saying he wasn't wrong but it annoys the shit out of me that women can punch men without even expecting consequences.

Not condoning violence at all and this video may be a bad example but it general. You all have seen videos of drunk women at football games and stuff starting altercations knowing they probably won't get touched after they do something stupid.

I know, as men, we are taught to not hit women, but im sorry, this look like self-defense by the letter of the law.

First of all, he did not invade her space, as they were both approaching the spot at the same time. She then raises her hand with a close fist and that's why he grabbed her. She then punches him first and that's when he defends himself and hit her back.

I don't agree with what he did, but she isn't innocent at all.
Looks to me like he had his hands on her and was pushing her well before she hit him, so if anyone has the self-defense argument, it's her. In fact, if you watch it again, she only hit him when he pulled her over closer towards him. She was 100% in the right to hit him at that point.

He was in no sort of imminent danger, she wasn't attacking him or charging at him unprovoked. She was at a distance, to the point where he had to reach out to hit her back. It wasn't self-defense; it was typical thuggish behavior from a cowardly thug. If you don't know a woman, you shouldn't put your hands on them. Period.

Mixon is a five-star who is expected to be a super-star, whereas Johnson is a three-star who was not expected to challenge for a starting roll. Are you sure it was only a matter of whether or not there was video?

According to some here he was going to be our starter... C'mon man! It makes for a better story that way! Facts be damned! :)

It takes more strength to stand tall walk away then to throw a punch at a female. Beating on a female is weak

Confession... While at FSU I did technically "strike" my girlfriend at the time...

We were walking home from a bar and she got pissed off because some dude cat called her from a car (Girl had the MOST gi-normous rack I'd ever seen and this likely happened frequently!) and I guess she'd had enough and started bawling and ran down the median of a busy street (Tennessee St for those who know Tallahassee)... I ran after her and caught up to her and was trying to tell her to settle down and she mule kicked me in the shin... Hurt like a SON of a b!tch!!! And basically without thinking I basically kneed her pretty damn hard in the ass...

Now I know this is nothing like punching a woman, but still...

So after that we both sit down in the median... Cars driving by... and talk it out... I just remember some dude running across the street asking if "everything was okay"... (Obviously asking her more than myself as I'm sure he saw what I did and not what precipitated it.)...

To this day I view it as not one of my better moments, but can't say as it wouldn't happen again in the same circumstance... Pretty sure I'd have the restraint to not punch a woman in the face full-force like that, but still fear that reactionary anger in that moment...

(Edit: And no, I wasn't on the football team wise asses! )

If he needed to take a full swing on a 100lb girl, who barely grazed him, to defend himself, he needs to get out of football because he will be taking much harder hits on the field. Wait, he is in the ACC, maybe that's the hardest hit he will get this year.

Did you watch the beginning of the video when they first walked up?

I sure did. I saw the girl get in line, saw a scuffle started by him impatiently trying to push his way to the bar, the girl leans back and says something, he pushes forward again. I acknowledge she raised a fist, but for god's sake, she wasn't in an aggressive stance or looking to attack him. Then he grabs her, pushes her, and then pulls her towards him. Right there, that is on him. She never touched him, he initiated contact. She had every right to try and fight him off. The entire situation starts and ends with him.

No, I saw two people trying to get a spot at The same time. Lets not act like she was already there. Then, as they are both trying to get that spot, she is the one that did the shoving first with her ass. She then raised her hand with a closed fist and that's when he grabbed her arm to make sure she don't hit him, protecting himself. That's when she took the first swing, and he swung back.

No way in hell should this guy be the only one charged. She should be too , or no one should be arrested at all.

Im sick of this society giving females
A pass. I still believe we shouldn't hit them, but we need to start holding these girls accountable.

I also wonder what was wrong with all the cowards standing around there. If he was really harassing her then why doesn't anyone step in and help?

She was there before him, hence why she had to tilt her head back to say something to him; he was behind her. She wasn't a threat unless you're a complete and total coward. Simply putting your hands up and backing away would diffuse the situation. Instead, he grabs her and starts pushing and pulling her.

I'm with you on giving women a pass - there have been numerous examples of women going way too far and beating men. There are times when hitting a woman can be necessary. If she has a weapon or is in some way an imminent cause of danger to you or a loved one. This was absolutely not one of those times. She only hit him when he grabbed her and pulled her towards him. That's on him.

Correction. Johnson was a 4 star recruit. Only place that had him as a 3star war 24/7. He was also Mr. Football in FL. So yeah they expected him to be a player. Just not this year.

It seemed to happen pretty quickly and with the noise most people probably just didn't notice

My opinion is that is doesn't matter what the situation was prior to him hitting her. He is a trained athlete. He had no business hitting her. I would turn and walk away if this happened to me. I don't give a shit what the situation is a real man does NOT hit a female. I hope to hell somebody kicks the pussies ass.
On top of this. He is a dumbass because he knows he is in the spotlight. What a fucking retard.

If Johnson had been smart he would have walked away. Walked away and then played this year. Played this year and won the Heisman. Won the Heisman and then directly after the ceremony, gone to find the chick and slap the shit out of her. If he had done shit in the right order he'd still be on the team... Sad

So where will he end up in two seasons?
On Jim Harbaugh's team.:dhd:

On a serious note, regardless if or what the woman said or did to this guy, it was a classless act and a typical act by a thug. Fuck him and let him rot in the streets.

Check out the time between :06 - :12. This shows him very clearly behind her and she's at the bar. She also is repeatedly yelling at him to let her go before she swings. Again, this is all on him. He had every possible chance to keep the situation from escalating and he did about every wrong that he could.
