Yeah McGinn loves to get full speed and blast everything that moves. That alone is something we need. I fucking love Wingels. I really hope he gets a chance to start the season.

Me too. He's not bad in the defensive zone either. I'd prefer this lineup (assuming everybody is healthy and ready to go) to start the season:

Marleau-Thornton-Pavelski
Clowe-Couture-Havlat
Mitchell-Handzus-Wingels
McGinn-Murray/Desjardins-Winchester

Burns-Vlasic
Boyle-Murray
Demers-White

Niemi
Griess

Is C. White going to play much? I'd like to see him in there but he hasn't been playing much (other than practices), has he?

Is it mostly because he'll get the nod over Vanderbeer/Braun most nights anyway once the season starts, or ... ?

That's how I see it breaking down though I still don't think Winchester makes the team.

I haven't watched a lot of the preseason games and obviously haven't seen any practices being in Fresno.

Who looks better between Colin White and Jim Vandemeer?

Tough to say. IMO both have played really well. It may come down to who shows the most chemistry with Demers.

We might get our answer from the coaching staff tomorrow night. If White is paired with Braun for that game then it appears the coaching staff is favoring Vandy for the 6th spot.

Ouch, I never knew you were stuck in Fresno. I am going to have to start being nicer to you...

My late and incredibly biased review:

-I like the Canucks better with half an AHL line up

-The hit on Demers was clean, he needs to pay better attention

-I like the Canucks better without Raffi Torres

-That is the last time that Winchester will ever run into a fight

-I love Douglas Murray

-I still think that Lappiere is a punk bitch

-I think the Sharks reacted more to the fact that Couture was hit and not that it was dirty. It was a clean hip check

-It's a good thing McGinn hits otherwise he wouldn't do anything at all

-Wait, who just scored that backhander???

-I like Wingles style of play and his name

-It only took one preseason game to get me fired up for the season.

This is the same lineup I came up with. White and Vandy are a toss up for the 6th D-Man. I really like Wingels, from the little I have seen of him.
McGinn has the tools to be a solid player and he definitely had a good game last night. The goal was the obvious highlight, but he had a nice check on that shift too.
Murray knocking down 2 Canucks on 1 hit was my favorite moment of the night.

That's the one! I thought he kinda went down funny since his legs just kinda parted and he stayed on his knees. usually when you get a good one to the chops you go all the way down not just halfway. Clearly, the leg, and not the hand, did the damage :-)

Maybe thats why volpatti eased up. He might have realized the won the fight on a technicality and no man beats up on a guy after accidentally kicking him in the cahones.

The punch is what knocked Winchester stupid. You don't wabble while sitting from a knee to the junk. He got his bell rung.

LOL. After that display, Winchester should never try to fight again. I thought Volpatti must have sucker punched him since he dropped so fast, then I saw the replay.

Sometimes you eat the bar and sometimes.....well, he eats you.

Winchester is a tough character, I'm sure he'll be fine. If anything, he just looked a little to eager to fight.
