I liked the GM trade for tootsie rolls in the Gammons' comment section the best.

"Too bad we can't shop the GM. . . you can have him for two tootsie rolls . . . okay we'll settle for just one . . . you drive a hard bargain, we'll give two tootsie rolls for you to take him away."

I heard Amaro is going to trade Utley, Maikel Franco, Jesse Biddle, J.P Crawford, and 2 players to be named later with the provisions those players have to be in the Top 5 prospects for the Phillies to the Giants for Hunter Pence with the added condition the Phillies need to provide a scooter for Pence

If you read the bottom, there's an interesting article on the Jeff Kent-Matt Williams trade. I still can't believe the type of hitter Kent turned into.

For what it's worth, Bonds and him had one of the best runs as 3/4 hitters. Their 2000 seasons may be the best combo for one season of all time. I'm sure Gehrig and Ruth had some similar seasons, not to mention some other guys, but damn.
Jeff Kent- .334/.424/.596 162 OPS+
Barry Bonds- .306/.440/.688 188 OPS+

Utley trade rumors have been floating for awhile. However I would be OK if the Phillies keep him. He still adds value to our team. He should be a Phllie for life. IMO.

2004 Cardinals had a pretty amazing 3-4-5. Pujols (.331/.415/.657, 173 OPS+), Rolen (.314/.409/.598, 158 OPS+), and Edmonds (.301/.418/.643, 171 OPS+).

Drew/Pujols/Edmonds was pretty good in 2001 as well. Drew had a 161 OPS+ (though he didn't qualify), Pujols 157 and Edmonds at 149.

hahaha! You 're right! Utley adds value to our last place team. Let's keep him so we can continue to languish in last place for the next couple of years. Afterall, our farm system is great...we don't need to add any quality prospects!

But you and others believe Amaro is a retard. So how the heck is he going to evaluate and trade for "quality prospects"?

You do know Amaro doesn't personally evaluate prospects right?

It's cliche, but Murder's Row has them beat.

Babe Ruth- .356/.486/.772 (holy shit) 225 OPS+
Lou Gehrig- .373/.474/.765 220 OPS+
Bob Meusel- .337/.393/.510 135 OPS+

Also, I know that they weren't 3/4 but Cobb and Crawford put up some legendary numbers together (1911 was probably their best year). It's a shame Pujols and Rolen didn't hate each other, because then it would be clear that your two best hitters have to be feuding in order to put up prolific numbers. Ruth/Gehrig, Bonds/Kent, and Cobb/Crawford all hated each other for a long time period.

Here's some trivia navamind. Don't look it up. Which two teammates have the most home runs on one team together? Hint: They have not been mentioned in this thread (just in case you thought it was Ben Revere and Chase Utley or something)
