KNOXVILLE — Asked to check up on his mother, University of Tennessee football player Daniel Hood discovered Wednesday her body and that of her boyfriend in a West Knox County apartment.
The Knox County Sheriff's Office identified the pair found Wednesday afternoon as Allan Ollis, 50, and Cindy Jo Flanary, 48. They were found in an apartment on Grove Lake Way in the Heritage Lake at Westland development.
Autopsies were scheduled for today, according to the Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's Office said that, according to the preliminary investigation, Hood, Flanary's son, reported his grandmother had called him and asked that he check on the welfare of his mother, because she had not been able to get in touch with Flanary for several days.
Hood told deputies that he went to his mother's apartment and noticed her vehicle was in the parking lot.
Hood reported that when he was unable to get an answer after knocking on the door, he forced his way into the apartment.
He found both victims lying on the bathroom floor and called E-911.
Rural/Metro Ambulance Service personnel pronounced both victims dead at the scene.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the preliminary investigation indicates there are no signs a third party was involved. The investigation is ongoing.
